How did my trip go?

Well it went a little something like this

We left at 7am on Sunday last week, the kids were great.
We stopped for breakfast on 5 at Dennys Jagger stretched his legs around the place.

We got to kingman around 7:30 ate at In and Out and found a hotel.
Took the kids to the pool, got them all relaxed, gave MIL a break.
I think we finally got to bed around 10:00, Jagger and Olivia were all over the bed all night, not too much sleep for me.
So we left the next morning after breakfast.
25 miles before we hit our exit DEAD STOP TRAFFIC all to merge into one lane it added 45 minutes to our trip.

So we get to the house unload take a look around and we go out to the backyard and Olivia goes hysterical "someone stole my jungle gym!" took her forever to calm her down. (Turns out our neighbor (who let us use it)sent me an email to let me know she was bringing it back over the wall, but we didn't get it, you have to prepare Olivia for these things, it turned out ok we said we would get her and her brother a new one). Life goes on.
We ate Panda that night, it hit the spot!

ok this is starting to get long! Needless to say my MIL was a great help and we got everything we needed to get done. Painted Brandi's room, cleaned, put everything away but furniture, re cleaned the backyard. It was great to see Olivia and Jagger enjoy playing in their house. Jagger was ecstatic to run around the house with so much space. He ran in the kitchen in the family room to the dinning and living room, he ran in the loft and in Brandi's room, Olivia's room, My room, and his room.

Olivia and I had closure in her room and assured her we would bring all of her things with us and our new house my not be as big but she will have all of her stuff.

So it's Saturday and I get off the phone with Joey and Jagger has been fussy while I am on the phone. I open the gate to go upstairs and projectile vomit is flying out of Jaggers mouth and nose. I run into the kitchen and ask for my MIL's help. Poor little guy he has never thrown up yet in his little life. So it's been like 2 hours he's taken a nap, drank some water, and we decide to go for our nice dinner, he is playing with his sister. We drive 2 minutes away and he throws up again, not as much this time. Again we go back to the house clean up wait and decide to go again. We just got our drinks and I can see him getting ready I grab a napkin cover his mouth. I pick him up and we drop to the floor so it does not go all over the table. We run to the bathroom when he is done. Poor little guy is covered in what I call cottage cheese. I clean him up and get the food to go. By the next morning he was good, thank god!

MIL got in a little Sandia casino time and I got Chuckie Cheese with the kids. It wasn't too bad. Olivia loved it, because it was familiar to her. Jagger was a mad man running through the place like he owned it. We stayed an extra day to finish up and we are glad we did. I didn't feel like I finished the job, I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders because we stayed that extra day. Oh and I had a little bit of the flu that day just some stomach cramping and diarrhea, (yes I know you needed to know that)

So the ride home went something like this. The car is packed, and I mean packed, we brought the kids wagon, picnic table, all the videos that Jag is into now and some Olivia will now like. We are on our way to Starbucks and Olivia throws up, she was complaining about her stomach hurting earlier and didn't think much of it because she always says that when she won't eat breakfast.

So she is drinking water eating saltine crackers, drinking sprite. She still is getting sick at least 3 more times on the ride, but she is hanging in there. We are about on hour out of Flagstaff AZ and we are at a Dennys and she gets sick one more time this time with dry heaves and I say I gotta call the doctor. They say get her to the ER with in 24 hours. So off to Flagstaff we are in the ER for 3 hours and she gets to drink her own water and hold it down she is good to go. She has a great nurse, who came into the room and introduced herself and was so excited to me "Princess Olivia and that she must have been kissing some frogs to get so sick" (I am writing a note and send to the hospital, because she was great!)

She got to drink her own water $1.25
ER bill $100
Listening to the drunk guy next door Priceless!

So MIL get our free cocktail in the bar (taking turns) ahh Apple Martini, much needed. We get up for our long haul in the morning and MIL has stomach cramps, fever. She says she wants to move on and we do. We make great time with two small children in tow (Oh and Olivia is fine for the rest of the night and in the morning). We left at 9am and got to Pacifica at about 11pm.

We took turns driving, the kids watched videos (a much thanks to Jessica and Marcial for the copy of baby einstein videos it would be the only thing to calm him down sometimes and the extra DVD). We will now have to invest in two DVD players it was so worth it! Also thank you to the wiggles, Elmo, Laurie Berkner, and Fergie for keeping the kids calm! I would also like to thank my neighbors, The Faulkners and The Legers for being such great neighbors and the use of their garbage cans. It was great catching up with you guys. William for chopping down our funky tree in the front. Brook and Toni for coming over to see Olivia (she really missed them).

No more road trips planed for a very very very long time!

Life

Don't take it for granted.

My brother came down for a funeral of a childhood friend.
This was the 2nd death for us in 2 weeks. They both took their own lives.

It sometimes put things in prospective when someone passes. It can put you back on track in your life, you start to focus on things that are important to you and let the other things roll off your back.

Enjoy your life, your kids, your friends, your family, the flowers, the ocean, anything you want to enjoy but just enjoy it.

Road Trip, Again

Well we are heading out the end of the week to clean, pack, and paint the house. I am taking the two little ones and I am going with Joeys mom. Should make for an interesting trip. I have a list of things I would love to bring back, but the kids stuff comes first. I hope to have my computer with me so I can update along the way.

Wish us luck!

Santa Cruz

It was so nice last Friday Joe and I packed 2 out of 3 kids (Brandi was at school) and took them to Santa Cruz. It was so hot. We actually got to spend time at the beach and the boardwalk.
It was a good day.

*due to Joey and I agreeing that we should not be in pictures in our bathing suits we will not be shown in our fun day.

Thoughts

So I just found out tonite that I guy I went to high school with passed away, Mark Gavron. I don't know what really happened he was missing one day in the morning and then later they found his body at a park that I frequent when I was growing up.
He use to date this girl Michelle they were a popular couple. After high school she married someone else, needless to say years later they found themselves back together. I really never knew both of them well, but well enough to have a conversation with them when I saw them. Real nice. I remember it was our senior year towards the end and he filled the back of his blue raised pickup truck with sand. He brought the beach to seniors.
You are gone, but not forgotten, my heart goes out to Michelle and her girls and the family.
